Serenity Movie 2005

A Sci Fiction movie with a Western theme, directed by Joss Whedon (Avengers the movie, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and starring Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Owing to extraordinary fan pressure over the criminally short lived 2002 Fox tv series "Firefly" (only 11 of its 14 produced episodes aired), Universal released the movie in 2005.
When the renegade crew of Serenity agrees to hide a female fugitive on their ship, they find themselves in an action-packed battle between the bloodthirsty creatures who roam the uncharted areas of space and the relentless military might of a totalitarian regime who will destroy anything - or anyone - to get the girl back.

But, the greatest danger of all may already be on their ship.

2005 Movie Seven Swords

Seven Swords is a 2005 Hong Kong film directed by Tsui Hark and adapted from renowned Wuxia writer Liang Yusheng. In the mid-1600s, the Manchurians take over sovereignty of China and establish the Qing Dynasty. The new rulers immediately impose a ban on the practice of Martial Arts.  Seven heroes each with uniquely fashioned swords take on the might of a mercenary army hell bent on imposing sovereign rule.

The unedited film was approximately four hours long, but was cut to 153 minutes. Viewers have expressed interest in seeing an extended version, but no such version has been released.

REC Movie Series

REC is a 2007 Spanish horror film co-written and co-directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza. The film was remade, in the United States as the 2008 film "Quarantine". A sequel, titled REC 2 was released in 2009, and two more films in the franchise are planned with a teaser trailer for REC 3 Genesis on youtube, and Rec 4 Apocalipsis set for release in 2012.

REC follows a television reporter, Ángela Vidal, and her cameraman, Pablo, who cover the night shift in one of Barcelona's local fire stations. Accompanying the firefighters to a nearby apartment, the news team begins recording the bloodcurdling screams coming from inside an elderly woman's unit. After authorities seal off the building to contain the threat, the news crew, firefighters and residents are trapped to face a lethal terror inside. With the camera running, it is increasingly likely that nothing will survive but the film itself.
